Invisalign in Bilbao: price, financing and how it works

In short: Invisalign is an orthodontic system using clear, removable aligners that straighten the teeth little by little. In Bilbao the market price usually ranges between €2,500 and €5,000 depending on the case, and it can almost always be financed in instalments. The price you see here is indicative; the firm quote is given at the free first visit.

What is Invisalign and how does it work?

Invisalign is a brand of invisible orthodontics that uses aligners made of clear plastic, custom-made for your mouth. You put them in yourself, wear them almost all day and change them every one or two weeks for the next set. Each aligner moves your teeth a little closer to their proper place.

First a 3D scan of your mouth is taken, along with a digital plan that shows, step by step, how the teeth will gradually move into position. From there all your aligners are made. The big advantage over traditional braces is that they are barely noticeable and you can take them out to eat and to brush your teeth.

How much does Invisalign cost in Bilbao?

The price depends above all on how complicated your case is and how many aligners you need. As a market reference, in Bilbao and the surrounding area it usually falls within this bracket:

Type of caseIndicative range
Mild case (few adjustments, short version)€1,800 – €2,800
Medium case (the most common)€2,800 – €4,000
Complex case (full treatment)€4,000 – €5,000

We must stress: these are market ranges to give you an idea, not the clinic’s firm prices. An exact quote can only be given after seeing your mouth and carrying out the study, and that first visit is free.

Can it be financed?

Yes. Almost no one pays for orthodontics all at once. The usual approach is to spread it over monthly instalments for the months the treatment lasts, and it can often be arranged interest-free. The specific instalment depends on the total amount and the number of months, so it is adjusted to suit you. At the first consultation they give you the real figures for your case.

How long does the treatment last?

It depends on what needs correcting. A simple case can be resolved in 6-9 months, and a full one can stretch to 18-24 months. For it to work well you have to wear the aligners around 22 hours a day: the more consistent you are, the better everything goes. If you take them out too often, the treatment takes longer.

Invisalign or braces?

There is no absolute winner: it depends on your case and on what you prioritise. Invisalign wins on aesthetics and comfort because it is almost invisible and you take it out to eat. Braces, on the other hand, tend to be somewhat cheaper and in very complex cases sometimes give the orthodontist more control. Is it for me?

Invisalign works well for crowding, gaps between teeth, bites that do not quite fit together and aesthetic cases. Not everyone is an ideal candidate, and that can only be known by looking at your mouth. That is why the sensible thing is not to rely on a price from the internet and to come in for an assessment. This is general information and does not replace a professional diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Invisalign cost in Bilbao?

Can Invisalign be paid in instalments?

Yes, the usual approach is to finance it in monthly instalments over the course of the treatment, with or without interest depending on the provider. At the first consultation they explain the specific options and the approximate instalment.

It does not usually hurt, but for the first few days with each aligner you feel pressure or mild discomfort because the teeth are moving. That is normal and passes within a day or two.
